Grandlark Investments (formally Simpson Group of Companies) has continued to grow and develop over many years. And throughout those years, we have made significant strides forward on many fronts. We have listed some of those highlights below.

Ms. Bethany Wiseman joins the team in Oceans Apart Management Inc (OAM)

March 2021

As part of our on-going growth and development, we are pleased to announce that Ms. Bethany Wiseman has joined the team as Technical and Customer Support Associate for the company’s psychological assessment distribution efforts in Oceans Apart Management (OAM).  In her role, Ms. Wiseman will have responsibility for directly handling the support requirements of psychological assessment customers spread across five continents.  Her mandate also includes providing internal assistance to senior team members in a variety of endeavours throughout Grandlark’s key Divisions.  Ms. Wiseman has recently earned (2021) an undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Guelph.

Ms. Emily Brown has been promoted to Research Manager

Ms. Brown has been assigned an expanded mandate in her executive search activities with Simpson Associates.  In her new position as Research Manager, Emily now as a mandate that includes extensive interaction with candidates and clients, detailed psychometric analysis of short-lists and direct supervision of a small number of junior associates in the research department.


Ms. Shenna He is the latest addition to the research group of Simpson Associates

Ms. Shenna He is our latest addition to the research group in our executive search division.  Working during the summer on a full-time basis and part-time throughout the remainder of the year until she completes her undergraduate degree in psychology, Shenna is actively providing initial research support for multiple executive search assignments across the company.    

Ms. He is currently in her 3rd year of psychology studies at the University of British Columbia (UBC)

Michelle Marsden promoted to President & COO

Michelle Marsden has been promoted to President & COO of the Simpson Group of Companies. With her new role, she takes full P&L responsibility for all of the operating divisions in the Group. “Ms. Marsden has been a very key part of our success, over a number of years, and we are delighted to see her move into this key role in the business,” said Group Chairman & CEO David Simpson in his announcement. Jeremy Simpson moves to the research department with Grandlark Investments

We are pleased to report that Mr. Jeremy Simpson has assumed the role of Researcher in Grandlark Investments Inc.  As a full-time member of the team, Jeremy is actively providing support in helping to identify acquisition possibilities.  Jeremy was previously a full-time participant as a researcher in the executive search group, Simpson Associates.

Mr. Connor Frost joins the executive search team as Research Associate

Because of continued growth, Mr. Frost has joined the research group in Simpson Associates, the executive search group in the Grandlark Investments portfolio.  Reporting directly to the General Manager, Ms. Michelle Marsden, Connor has been tasked with extensive research into suitable candidates for senior search assignments throughout North America.

In addition to some training in biomedical engineering, Mr. Frost also possesses a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology, obtained from UBC in 2020.

Ms. Olivia Scoten becomes a member of Simpson Associates

We are pleased to announce that Ms. Olivia Scoten has taken up her new role as a Research Associate in Simpson Associates, the executive search arm of Grandlark Investments.  In addition to putting extensive efforts in senior search activities, Olivia is looking forward to being tasked in working with one of the top psychologists in the world in order to continue to develop some of the most advanced assessment tools available.  Prior to joining Simpson Associates, Ms. Scoten held research roles with BC Children’s Hospital Research Institute and University of British Columbia.

Ms. Scoten graduated from Queen’s University with an undergraduate degree in psychology in 2020.  Very active in multiple aspects of psychology, we are enthusiastic to announce that Olivia has published her first post-graduate paper in the Journal of Developmental Psychobiology.

Richard Dawes joins the team as Director of Technology

Mr. Richard Dawes has joined TAIS Performance Systems Inc. (TPSI) in the the role of Director of Technology. Rich has complete responsibility for IT across the company, with a special emphasis on the software related to our basket of psychological assessment tools. He is considered the world authority on the software and underlying technology that accompanies one of the most powerful assessment tools on the planet — The Attentional and Interpersonal Style (TAIS) Inventory. Mr. Dawes is based in our San Diego office.

Asset purchase of Enhanced Performance Systems Inc. (San Diego, Calif.)

Grandlark Investments Inc. has completed the acquisition of the assets of Enhanced Performance Systems Inc.(EPS), a San Diego-based firm that developed a number of psychological assessment instruments including The Attentional & Interpersonal Style (TAIS) Inventory. This important purchase of a basket of very effective assessment instruments is a cornerstone of Grandlark's on-going growth and success. Designed by one of the top psychologists on the planet, Dr. Robert M. Nideffer, Ph.D. ,the original founder of EPS, has agreed to join our Board as Executive Vice Chairman. We are particularly honored that Dr. Nideffer elected to entrust our organization with a legacy that he built over the course of more than forty years.
